Read the investigator agreement
Parties. You (the claimant named below) and Claimwell Recovery (the investigator), a private service that is not affiliated with or endorsed by the California State Controller’s Office.
Property. The unclaimed property identified above, reported to the State of California. A name and address match is not proof of ownership; the state decides whether to approve payment and no recovery is guaranteed.
Services. Claimwell will research the record, tell you exactly which documents are required, prepare the state claim forms from your documents for your review, arrange signing and notarization, submit the claim on your behalf, and report its status to you.
Fee. Up to 10% of the funds actually recovered and paid by the state, and nothing otherwise. No fee, deposit or expense is due before the state pays you. If nothing is recovered, you owe nothing.
Your free option. You can claim this property directly with the California State Controller at no cost at any time. This agreement is optional.
Withdrawal. You may withdraw from this agreement at any time before you sign the claim affirmation, without cost.
Documents. Documents you provide are stored privately, requested once, and used only to prepare and support this claim.
Term. This agreement expires twelve months after you accept it unless a claim has been submitted. It is governed by California law, including the rules for unclaimed-property agreements in the Code of Civil Procedure.
Electronic acceptance. By typing your name and ticking the box below you agree to sign this agreement electronically; your acceptance is recorded with the time and your account.
